E301 Lion’s Mane for Brain Fog, Sleep, and Menopause

301: Lion’s Mane for Brain Fog, Sleep, and Menopause

As it turns out, mushrooms may play a far greater role in human health than we originally thought – and as such, should be included in every clinical protocol.

Long-time herbalist and mushroom expert Lee Carroll joins me to talk about Lion’s Mane for brain fog, sleep, and menopause – and why mushroom quality matters far more than most practitioners realize.

In this episode, we unpack the quality problem in the mushroom supplement market, including why many products sold as Lion’s Mane may contain very little actual mushroom and why that can affect clinical results. We also talk about the difference between fruiting body mushrooms and mycelium-on-grain products, and why that distinction matters when you’re choosing products for patients.

You’ll also hear how to think clinically about two new formulas from Real Mushrooms: Lion’s Mane Focus for cognition, memory, and brain fog, and Lion’s Mane Calm for irritability, stress support, and sleep. These products may be especially helpful for perimenopausal and menopausal women, but the clinical applications go well beyond that category.
