What are your non-negotiables?

Although it doesn't happen often, once in a while, you'll have a patient that needs to test the boundaries. Whether it's because they want to see what they can get for free or it becomes a power game, I'm honestly not sure. But it happens.

And when it does, if you're not prepared upfront, these individuals can wreak havoc on your emotions and deplete your bottom line.

Here's what you can do about it.

Think about your non-negotiables and then write them out to include in your Office Policies for every patient to sign. You can provide an updated document for your existing patients to review, letting them know there have been a few changes and you want to make sure they knew about them ahead of time.

Patients will always appreciate the clarity and transparency of what your expectations are. This will prevent misunderstandings from happening in the future and allow you to focus on what's important - providing the best possible care for your patients as possible!
